Brief Information And Benefits Of TWRP Recovery

TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) is an open-source community development project. Flashing TWRP allows you to install any firmware on your device, boot your smartphone, modify zip files for settings, Xposed modules for settings, root, and uproot with one click.

You can also make a full backup of Nandroid and restore it later, flash the image file with one click, remove bloatware, overclock and underclock. With TWRP, you can easily erase, cache, and clear data after flashing any image file to reflect changes and correct minor errors caused by caching.

To install TWRP, your Sony Xperia 5 phone must have an unlocked bootloader. This means that you first need to unlock the bootloader to root the device, and also perform a configuration.

Step one: Go to the official Sonydeveloper page, and check the list by selecting your device from the drop-down list. Create a new Sony Xperia account or sign in with your existing account, or sign in directly with your Google/Gmail account.

Step two: Make sure your device has an active internet connection before proceeding. Some actions are model-specific. Therefore, check if you can unlock the bootloader of the device as described above. As usual, devices with two SIM cards always have two IMEI numbers, so use IMEI number 1 to get the bootloader to unlock the code for your device.

Step three: Start the telephone dialer and enter this code:

#*#7378423#*#

Step four: On the screen, go to Service Info > Configuration > Rooting Status > and verify that the bootloader unlocking system is enabled. If everything seems normal, proceed as follows.

Step 5: Download the Google USB driver from the sample area above, as the Google USB driver android_winusb.inf/ is required to perform ADB debugging with Google devices on a Windows PC.

Step six: Open the phone number again, dial *#06# and copy the IMEI number of your Sony Xperia device (make sure you copy the SIM IMEI 1 if your device has two SIM cards as above).

Step seven: Return to the Sony Developer World page, select your device model, and enter your email address. A link to an unlock code to unlock your device’s bootloader will be sent to your email address shortly. Just click on the link to get the unlock code.

Steps to flash/install TWRP recovery 3.5.0 on Sony Xperia 5 J9210 (Bahamut)

The steps to flash or install TWRP recovery 3.5.0 on Sony Xperia 5 J9210 is as follows:-

Step one: Let’s assume that you have already downloaded the Android SDK platform-tools (SDK Manager) on your PC. The platform-tools include the necessary ADB binaries and quick downloads.

Step two: Make sure the drivers are installed on your computer. Then proceed to the next step.

Message: If USB development and debugging settings are already enabled on your device, as suggested in the Benefits section, skip steps 3 and 4 and follow step 5 directly.

Step three: Now activate the development settings on your Sony Xperia 5 device. To do this, go to Settings -> About and find the build number, then click on the build number 7 times, which will activate the developer settings on your device.

Step four: If you already have USB debugging, you can skip this step. If not, open the developer settings and enable the USB debugging option.

Step five: Now open a command prompt on the ADB computer/terminal and just type the command.

Step six: The device must not be put into the quick start mode. Now copy the TWRP.img file downloaded in the required section to the same folder where the ADB and rapid boot binaries are located. Rename the file to twrp.img and enter this command:

Quick start Flash recovery twrp.img, then run this command, enter : quick restart

Step seven (important): On some devices, custom recovery may not be automatically replaced on first boot. You can search for a Google shortcut to put the device into recovery mode. After executing the quick restart command, hold down the appropriate key combination to enter TWRP mode. Once the device is booted into TWRP mode, TWRP automatically corrects the stock ROM to prevent TWRP from being overwritten by the stock restore.

After entering the fast restart command, hold down the combination key and start in TWRP. Once TWRP is loaded, TWRP will patch the ROM to prevent TWRP from replacing the ROM. If you do not perform this step, you will need to restart the installation.
