TWRP has an attractive hardware design and user interface (UI). If you follow this guide, you can install the latest version of TWRP for Umidigi S5 Pro. You can download TWRP Recovery from the links in the sample section of this article. Please note that this is an unofficial TWRP recovery and is only for Umidigi S5 Pro (Confirm model in Settings>Over). If you want to unleash the full potential of your Umidigi S5 Pro hardware, then rooting and flashing TWRP is the most important task. Exchange ROMs often have limited and unsupported customization options. If you have a rooted device and a flashed TWRP recovery, you can install any custom ROM, modules, kernels, Xposed, etc, as well as many applications that require access with superuser privileges to function properly.

Brief information and benefits of TWRP recovery
TWRP (Team Win Recovery Project) is a community and open source development project. Flashing TWRP allows you to install any firmware on your device, boot your smartphone, modify zip files for settings, Xposed modules for settings, root, and uproot with one click. You can also make a full backup of Nandroid and restore it later, flash the image file with one click, remove bloatware, overclock and underclock. With TWRP, you can easily erase, cache and clear data after flashing any image file to reflect changes and correct minor errors caused by caching.
To install TWRP, your Umidigi S5 Pro phone must have an unlocked bootloader. This means that you first need to unlock the bootloader to root the device, and also perform a configuration.

Step one: Start uploading all the files listed in the required section above.
Step two: Browse the downloaded files, then right-click and extract the archived file MT6xxx_USB_VCOM_drivers. zip. Then navigate to the unzipped folder and click on the InstallDriver.exe file. This will install a VCOM preloader on your system.
Step three: Assuming you downloaded SP FlashTool (Win) from the link above, click on the archive and unzip it. Then display and run the flash_tool.exe file.

Step four: Find the broadcast file in the TWRP zip file you downloaded. Rename the TWRP file (.img) to recovery.img. Now navigate to the flash tool interface and select the release file from the extracted Stock ROM folder (Download Stock ROM for your Umidigi S5 Pro Smartphone).

Step 5: At this point, leave the recovery as a ticket/check. Now on the Location tab, click on the Storage Location field and locate the device-specific recovery image file (as shown in the figure above). Then click on the Download button.
Step six: Now connect your Umidigi S5 Pro to your computer via the USB port. When you connect your smartphone, the flashing process starts automatically and lasts only a few seconds.
Seventh step: At this point in the user recovery process, your device has been flashed. You can now disconnect the device from the computer. Now you need to power on/down your device to restore TWRP. To do this, start the device by pressing and holding the volume up button. Note that the key combinations may vary depending on the model of the device. You can confirm the correct key combination for your Umidigi S5 Pro. The Louder key also launches bootloader mode on some devices, which has a menu to switch to recovery mode. Warning: You can use Magisk Manager or Super SU, but only one, so choose wisely. Go to Magisk Manager if you are not sure.
Step one: Transfer the downloaded file SuperSU.zip or magisk.zip to the internal memory / SD card of your Umidigi S5 Pro smartphone.
Step two: Just get started on the recovery. You can also make a ROM backup via the TWRP interface. However, I recommend that you make a backup copy of the ROM. Because if the process fails, you can flash the ROM.
Step three: Press Install, then navigate to the SuperSU.zip or magisk.zip file and drag the firmware confirmation file (located at the bottom of the screen). The Magisk/SuperSU flash process has started and will take a few seconds.
Congratulations, you are now rooted in the Umidigi S5 Pro, and you have also given the green light to TWRP. Now you can install Xposed Framework and customize your smartphone as you like. If you want to check it, you can download and check the root status through the Root Checker application.
