Since joining Gale Force Esports in April of 2016, Michael “MichaelUdall” Udall has been an integral part of the organization’s success and growth. As team captain and shotcaller, Michael has lead our Heroes of the Storm team to a first place victory in the 2016 ESL North America Summer Regional Championship and three HGC Championship appearances.

It is with great sadness that we announce the retirement of Michael “MichaelUdall” Udall from the competitive Heroes of the Storm scene. He will remain part of Gale Force Esports as a streamer and content producer but will no longer appear on our roster in HGC. The staff of GFE cannot express our deepest gratitude to Michael for all that he has contributed to the organization and we will miss his presence dearly.

Team Manager and GFE’s Director of Player Operations Mellina “Mel” Kong says,

“With a sad goodbye, I want to say that it was an honor to be Michael’s manager. Michael has been one of the best players, individuals, and captains that I have ever worked with at Gale Force Esports. He has a great work ethic and a genuine personality that has flourished into great sportsmanship in esports. I am very sad that he has decided to retire as a player; however, I know he will accomplish great success in his future endeavors. Best of luck to you Michael! GFE family forever!”

Chief Operating Officer of GFE Freddie “MaVNiS” Crespo Jr. adds,

“It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Mike from competitive HotS. He was one of the first people I recruited when I joined GFE and he has been the best player and teammate an organization could ask for. I have seen him mature on so many levels and have forged a bond with him that I will always remember. I wish him the best in all his future endeavors as I know anything he decides to do he will absolutely do great things in. From the bottom of my heart, thank you Michael for all you have done here at GFE. You will be greatly missed.”

Michael Udall has written a statement regarding his retirement, which in part reads,

"I have loved this journey and enjoyed my teammates, present and past. Each will always hold a special place in my heart. A thanks to my organization Gale Force Esports for taking a chance on me. Sorry we didn’t get to Blizzcon but we still had a great run. Never forget always VP CORE."
